A panic room (also known as a safe room) is a fortified room which can be built within in a private residence or business to provide a safe hiding place for people in the event of an emergency, invasion, or other threat. Communications equipment can be fitted within your panic room, to enable you to make contact with the authorities; in case of an emergency.
Panic rooms are built with reinforced walls and a reinforced door with sheets of steel, Kevlar, or bullet-resistant glass; to maximise the safety of those entering the panic room. Hinges and strike plates are all reinforced to give maximum resistance to a possible threat. All of our panic rooms have ventilation systems and can have a time coded system.
Panic rooms can be built with concrete basement walls, a building technique that is normally not possible on the upper floors unless there is substantial structural reinforcement to the building.
In addition, TJ Building Solutions can fit a low budget panic room in any property, and with the right design a room can be hidden behind wardrobes or furniture without the reinforced walls, but creating the ideal hiding place; giving time for authorities to be contacted in the event of an emergency.
